Cousins!

Since the announcement of their separation, things have not been looking good for Andre “Dr. Dre” Young and Nicole Young. In June, the judge declared the couple was legally single, but now the ex-couple is still in court battling over their divorce settlement. This contentious divorce turned from, “ouch” to downright disrespectful. Reportedly, Dr. Dre was served with legal papers at his grandmother’s funeral service.

According to Yahoo News, Dr. Dre was reportedly laying his grandmother to rest at the Inglewood Park Cemetery on Monday, when the NWA rapper was served with papers related to his divorce.  Now sources close to the mega-hit producer claims, there was an attempt to give him the documents at the burial site while he stood next to his grandmother. However, sources close to Nicole Young deny those claims, saying Dre was served in the cemetery parking lot.

Supposedly, Dre was so upset that he refused, in which the server might have left the papers at the gravesite. The documents reportedly had to do with Dre paying his ex-spouse the balance of $1,224,567 for her lawyer fees. Talk about messy.
Now, this comes from the news that Dre was ordered to pay $300K a month in spousal support. But initially, Young requested 2 million. After 24 years of marriage and two children (daughter, Truly & Son, Truice), Young filed for divorce in 2020, citing irreconcilable differences. Also, Young claimed Dre was abusive during their relationship, which Dre denies.

This divorce comes off as a bad record that keeps on playing. We don’t know when it’s going to end but hopefully soon.
