Please join us in sending our deepest prayers to the people of Haiti following a massive earthquake on Saturday resulting in multiple deaths!
The 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck early Saturday morning around 830AM with an epicenter of 7.5 miles per hour.
According to CBS news, the earthquake was so powerful that the aftershock was felt in countries next to it.
Reports read that a Tsunami Warning was temporarily issued in the United States and was lifted shortly.
High casualties are probable and the disaster is likely widespread,” says the USGS .
“Past events with this alert level have required a national or international level response.”
Numerous residents have taken to social media to share images of destroyed buildings including a church where a ceremony was reportedly underway at the time of the earthquake.
As of right now there has been a reported total of 29 deaths with no word of how many people were injured.
