Cousins!
Today marks the official one year death anniversary of the beautiful and endlessly talented Naya Rivera!
Fans and loved ones have continued to mourn Naya’s tragic passing while keeping her impactful legacy going.
In an interview with Good Morning America Naya’s mother Yolanda Previtire reflects on the sadness her family feels in regards to her daughter’s death.
“Sometimes we’re afraid of the sorrow being so heavy that we’re afraid for our own self, ’cause this is hard. There are no words to describe what we’re going through. All we know is we have each other,” says Yolanda.
“I feel Naya’s energy constantly telling me, ‘Mom, be happy. Don’t cry. I’m OK. Go get Josey. Have fun.’ And I feel that it’s coming from her. I literally wake up every morning, and it’s almost like a restart button, and I have to shake it off, one foot at a time. And here we are.”
She goes on to recall their last conversation, revealing that she spoke to Naya hours before her passing.
“I missed two of her FaceTime calls, and I called her back. And we had a beautiful conversation. The sun was kissing her face and she was just beautiful,” says Yolanda. “She had a white, beautiful swimming suit on and she was glowing.”
As we previously reported Naya had went missing on July 8th 2020 while boating with her young son Josey Hollis Dorsey. Her body was discovered five days later and confirmed by investigators that she had accidentally drowned.
Our thoughts prayers forever remain with Naya’s loved ones.
