As of Thursday a federal grand jury has officially ruled to indict all four ex police officers involved with the murder of George Floyd, ruling that they directly violated his civil rights during the 2020 arrest!
According to CNN the indictment states that ex Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin deprived Floyd of the right to be free from “unreasonable seizure, which includes the right to be free from the use of unreasonable force by a police officer.”
Sources have confirmed that Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng have also been charged in connection with their failure to step in and stop Chauvin’s use of unreasonable and excessive force.
Reports read that Chauvin, Thao, Kueng alongside the fourth officer, Thomas Lane, are all facing charges for failing to give provide George with medical aide during the 2020 incident.
The indictment reads, “the defendants saw George Floyd lying on the ground in clear need of medical care, and willfully failed to aid Floyd, thereby acting with deliberate indifference to a substantial risk of harm to Floyd.”
