Late Rapper Fred The Godson has officially been honored with a street named after him within his hometown of the Bronx , New York today!
On Monday afternoon Fredrick “ Fred The God Son” Thomas Way was unveiled amongst numerous friends, family members and fans at the corner of Leggett Avenue and Kelly Street reports Hip Hop DX.
Reports read that an official ceremony is set to take place following the unveiling with key speakers and fellow artists such as Jim Jones, Fat Joe, Mysonne and Sway Calloway along with performances from Jaque and TBM Fat Boy Izzo.
As we previously reported Fred passed away after testing positive for Covid-19 back in April 2020.
Fred’s wife LeeAnn Jemmott stated that following his diagnosis doctors noted that he had showed signs of getting better. However he passed away shortly.
“It was just like — he’s gone and he’s gonna die, that’s it. I don’t even know how I felt, I just felt like I was going to die. Now, instead of the ventilator supporting him 100 percent, it’s supporting him 70 percent,” says LeeAnn.
We need him like he is our strength, he is our good vibes, our positivity. Don’t just assume they are going to die. Because that’s all we are hearing is people dying, dying, dying. He’s winning, he’s winning.”
