Congratulations are in order as actors Jason Weaver and Tabitha Brown have officially been announced as joining the cast of Showtime’s hit drama series The Chi !

The drama based series originally created by Lena Waite and produced by Common takes a deeper look into a neighborhood within the South Side area of Chicago.

The Chi explores the journeys of residents searching for redemption while facing their own life obstacles only to be connected coincidently by their own neighbors.

Jason alongside fellow actor TabithaBrown are set to take on recurring roles within the series reports Deadline.

Jason will portray the role of Rashad ‘Shaad Marshall, a Chicago native currently in a quest to rebuild his life. Tabitha is set to play a successful interior designer by the name of Octavia.

Sources have confirmed that The Chi is currently undergoing production out in Chicago for season four. The show is scheduled to return to television later this year, there has been no confirmed date for their series premier.
