Regal Movie Theater Chain To Close All 536 Locations In The US!

The Regal Cinemas movie theater chain is set to shut down all 536 locations within the US this coming Thursday!

According to NPR, the rapid and temporary closure derives from the coronavirus pandemic and the overall decline in movie sales and film release pushbacks.

Sources have confirmed that the entire Regal chain had reopened only two months ago in late August.

Regal is identified as the second largest movie theater franchise in the country after AMC Theaters. Reports read that a total of 40,000 Regal theaters will now be forced to close with a total of 5,000 workers facing unemployment

“This is not a decision we made lightly, and we did everything in our power to support a safe and sustainable reopening in the U.S.,” says CEO of Cineworld Mooky Greidinger.

Though there has been no connection linked between movie theaters and the coronavirus. There are specific states in which Regal theaters weren’t able to reopen since the pandemic, such as New York City.
