According to The Root, Waters had previously revealed that her sister Velma Moody, 86 had contracted the virus while staying at a nursing home. Sources have confirmed that Waters announced two weeks ago that Moody had been hospitalized and was ultimately dying from the disease.
On April 23rd Waters dedicated the recently issued Coronavirus bill to her sister, in support of the Health Care Enhancement Act, reports 5 on your side.
Reports read that on May 1st Moody had passed away at the Grand Manor Nursing Home located in St. Louis. It has been indicated that the particular site had been hit extremely hard by the affects of the crisis, with numerous patients as well as staff members testing positive. No information has been forwarded as to how many people have died from the virus that was associated with the facility.
Funeral arrangements for Moody are set to take place Thursday 5/11 with officials advising family, friends and attendees to wear masks in order to protect themselves from possible contraction.
