#Cousins,
after a four year hiatus since his last project singer and songwriter #TheWeeknd has made an official return to the music scene. With an all new album and attitude to match; the Canadian native is ready to address a few things legendary artist who he believes copied his style included!
Within a recent interview with Variety, The Weeknd speaks on his earlier projects and how his sound changed the pop music genre scene when he first broke out into the industry, reports Refinery 29.
It has been indicated that within the conversation The Weeknd spoke upon his original sound and how he felt as if legendary artist #Usher Raymond swagger jacked his technique back in 2012 with the hit single Climax.
“House of Balloons literally changed the sound of pop music before my eyes,” The Weeknd stated. “I heard ‘Climax,’ that [2012] Usher song, and was like, ‘Holy fuck, that’s a Weeknd song.’”
Despite the Weeknds efforts and accusations, multiple Twitter users disagreed with his remarks entirely.
Usher was singing falsetto back when The Weeknd was still a weekday…

The Weeknd thinking Usher sounds like him is delusion. Usher is a vocalist. The Weeknd is not. That's no shade. Lol

Hours later fellow artist #EricBellinger responded to the forwarded accusations with a #ClimaxChallenge in which multiple users sang the hit record.
But it wasn’t until Usher flexed his own vocals that the game over.
#Cousins what do you think?
