Social media initially fell in love with both Kryst and Harris due to the fact the ladies were shown throughout the entire pageant rocking their natural hair. Connecticut native and current high school student Garris tells the media out that many attempted to convince her to straighten her hair for the competition but she ultimately refused. Stating that she felt the most confident and beautiful with her hair in it’s natural state.
