Viral footage has surfaced of a young teen by the name of “ Kay Kay “ , shown vandalizing a full face mural of the late #NipseyHussle in Hartford #Connecticut. As many comment in disgust and great anger of the foolery and plain disrespect this young lady has shown, a group of leaders have decided to take a more peaceful approach. Coming together the way Nipsey would want us to, “Don’t respond to foolishness and leave clowns on goofy time!”
According to #TheShadeRoom ; Kay Kay states her choice to deface the mural derived from an argument she had with her boyfriend. ( Were not too sure of the connection, but ok.) Thankfully a group of Nipsey’s dedicated fans stepped in; joining together to not only revive the mural but also restore the peace. Sources have indicated that a total of 25 Of Nipsey’s supporters showed up in rainy weather. A young woman by the name of Deja Robertson, her mom and a male named Joey helped paint over the graffiti and touch up the mural’s paint.
Community member Lee Benton states; “Nipsey didn’t just mean a lot to my community but to all urban communities around America,”
“He preached black excellence, change and he empowered every person around every hood to find their purpose. A person like that should be celebrated forever in my opinion.”
We are extremely overjoyed and thankful that everyone was able to come together peacefully within response to a direct form distasteful behavior. It’s important that we keep in mind that we as a people need to move forward with strength and intelligence, violence will not only Keep us at a standstill but also has the power to push us backwards.
