Cousins! NeNe Leakes is being accused of an unpaid tab of over twenty thousand dollars in unpaid rent for her clothing shop as her previous landlord has officially filed a lawsuit!
According to reports from TMZ, a landlord over at Sugarloaf Mills–the shopping center where NeNe’s Swagg Boutique was previously located has recently taken legal action. The suit details that NeNe originally signed a lease back in 2017 which was later extended in 2021.
Court documents obtained by the outlet indicate that NeNe reportedly vacated the premises in early 2022 following the end of the term agreement. The landlord cites claims that NeNe never paid off the final balance of $22,900 owed within the lease.
Reports read that the landlord forwarded NeNe a letter back in July advising her of the balance owed, however, it has been stated that she never coughed up a penny.
It has been indicated that the reality television star is being taken to court as the landlord now is not only seeking the unpaid balance, but also damages for back rent and attorney fees.
The DailyMail reports Swagg Boutique had multiple locations in Maryland, Georgia and Florida but closed in 2020 amid the pandemic.
It has been stated that the stores ultimately reopened but ‘going out of business sales’ were held prior to the stores closing down for good.
