The city of Minnesota is currently in an uproar following the tragic murder of a young father at the hands of local police in which they are declaring a terrible accident gone wrong!

On Sunday afternoon April 11th near the Brooklyn Center just 10 miles from where the Derek Chauvin murder case is taking place; Daunte Wright, 20 was shot and killed during a traffic stop.

According to Blavity, Daunte’s family members have come forward to state that he was pulled over for having air fresheners hanging from his rear view mirror.

Reports read that as cops attempted to take him into custody for prior warrants he was shot in the back for getting into his vehicle with his girlfriend.

Daunte drove around three blocks before he crashed causing the vehicle to come to a complete stop.

Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Cannon states that despite numerous life saving measures performed on Daunte he was declared dead at the scene. Medical examiners have ruled his death as a homicide.

A graphic video of the traumatic incident has been released which shows Wright in the process of being arrested as he gets back into the car.

As the officer identified as Kim Potter tussles with Daunte she yells word “TASER” as she pulls out a gun and releases a single bullet into his chest.
She then screams, “S**t, I just shot him,” as Wright pulled off.

Chief Cannon has come forward to state Potter meant to reach for her taser but instead accidentally discharged her gun, reports TMZ. He also adds that no gun was discovered in Wright’s vehicle.

“As I watched the video and listened to the officers commands, it is my belief that the officer had the intention to deploy their taser, but instead shot Mr. Wright with a single bullet,” says Cannon.

“This appears to me, from what I viewed, and the officer’s distress and reaction immediately after, that this was an accidental discharge.”

Minnesota residents are currently protesting the fact that another fatal police shooting has occurred a person of color once again.
